How long does the effect of bichectomy last?

Once fat cells have been removed, they don’t grow back. The result of this intervention is therefore permanent.

Will bichectomy give me high cheekbones?

By removing the cheek fat, you get a narrower face and the cheekbones stand out more clearly. How strong depends on the individual face shape. However, if you would like an additional emphasis on your cheekbones, we will be happy to help you, e.g. with a gentle cheek augmentation with hyaluronic acid.

When can I go back to work after facial reduction?

That depends on what profession you are pursuing. Office work can be resumed the very next day. If you do heavy physical work, a break of up to 2 weeks can be useful. We would be happy to give you an individual holiday recommendation in a non-binding consultation, just talk to us!

How long does the healing process after facial reduction take and how can I support it?

The healing period is usually 1-2 weeks, in some cases a little longer. Take it easy on yourself during the first few days after the procedure, treat yourself to rest and refrain from physical exertion. When lying down, keep your head slightly elevated and gently cool your cheeks to prevent swelling and pain.

Is the treatment painful?

The procedure itself takes place under local anesthetic and is therefore usually not painful. In the first few days after the operation, slight wound pain can occur, for which medication can be taken if necessary. Since the mucous membrane of the mouth heals relatively quickly, any pain also disappears quickly.

When can I eat again after the procedure?

As soon as the local anesthetic wears off, after 2-3 hours. In order not to put too much strain on the surgical wounds in the mouth, we recommend a soft diet for the first 5 days after the operation.

What do I have to consider before reducing the size of my face?

In order to avoid side effects such as bruises, blood-thinning medication (e.g. aspirin) should be stopped 10 days before the procedure. You can continue taking the medication for about 4 days after the operation. In a personal consultation, we record your medical history including a medication plan in advance so that we can give you an individual recommendation.

Is bichectomy also suitable for men?

Yes, the procedure makes sense for both men and women who are bothered by the fat pads on their cheeks.
