Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is commonly known as a “nose job.” It involves reshaping and restructuring the nose to improve its appearance or function, or both. Rhinoplasty can be used to address a wide range of issues, such as correcting a crooked or deviated septum, reducing the size of the nose, or changing the shape or contour of the nose.

Rhinoplasty is often used for cosmetic reasons, such as to improve the appearance of the nose and enhance facial harmony. However, it can also be used for medical reasons, such as to correct breathing problems caused by a deviated septum or other structural abnormalities in the nose.

During the rhinoplasty procedure, the surgeon will make incisions in the nose and then reshape the bone and cartilage to achieve the desired result. In some cases, additional cartilage may be harvested from another part of the body, such as the ear or rib, to use in the nose. The treatment is usually done under general anesthesia and can take several hours.

After the procedure, patients will typically experience some swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes, which can take several weeks to fully resolve. It is important to follow the surgeon’s post-operative instructions carefully to ensure a successful recovery and minimize the risk of complications.
