Graduating from Istanbul School of Medicine, Istanbul University in 2003, Assist. Prof. Burcu Göker completed specialty education in Department of Neurosurgery, Istanbul School of Medicine in 2010.
She works as Neurosurgeon in Neurosurgery Clinic of Liv Hospital. Fields of medical interests include pediatric neurosurgery, neurooncological surgery, minimally invasive spinal surgery.
She interests in many diseases in pediatric field such as congenital anomalies of nervous system, hydrocephaly, cerebral and spinal tumors, spina bifida, pediatric cerebral and spinal vascular diseases, deformities in skull, epilepsy, pediatric movement disorders, neonatal congenital intracranial hemorrhages, head traumas and spinal traumas, spinal deformities etc.
After she earned Study Abroad Scholarship of Turkish Neurosurgical Society in 2015-2016, she started to work in Pediatric Neurosurgery, Institute of Neurosurgery, Catholic University Medical School, Rome, Italy as Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship with Prof. Gianpiero Tamburrini, M.D. She was nominated for the ISPN (International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery) 2016-2017 Fellowship scholarship by the clinic she worked for. Burcu Göker, M.D., also earned the ISPN Fellowship scholarship and is still working on her doctoral thesis on “Surgical Approaches at the Craniovertebral Junction’’ in the same university.
