The anesthesia specialists of the Liv Hospital’s Anesthesia and Reanimation Department provide quality and safe healthcare service that is fully integrated with other departments for diagnosis, medical treatment and to improve the quality of life of patients.
The Department provides quality and safe anesthesia service for 7/24 with its experienced specialist staff. Anesthesia technicians receive continuous clinical and theoretical training under the supervision of anesthesiologists and participate in the vocational education seminars. The anesthesia team provides successful service in all areas that require anesthesia (operating room, endoscopy unit, delivery room, obstetric interventions, MRI, radiology, emergency and IVF).
Major Services Offered
All patients are assessed by anesthesiologist prior to operation. The anesthesia plan of patients at risk for anesthesia and surgery is done after discussing it with the anesthesia physician in charge of department. Anesthesia methods are first explained to patients and accordingly applied always after obtaining their permission officially. The main area of service the anesthesia physicians are served is the operating room.
The anesthesia service includes the medical assessment of experienced anesthesiologists prior to the intervention and the pain therapy and follow-up of all vital functions during and after the intervention. In the diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, it covers also the applications such as analgesia and sedation, daily surgical anesthesia, painless birth, anesthesia in babies and children, and anesthesia in surgical branches.
Safe Anesthesia in Specialty Surgeries
Ultrasonography device is used in our operating room for regional anesthesia methods. The state-o-the-art “Da Vinci surgical system HD” for general surgery, obstetrics and urology operations and “MAKO Rio Robotic Orthopedic System” for orthopedic and knee replacement operations are available in our operating room.
Anesthesiologists apply all the technological possibilities of anesthesia for the patient safety and required methods for patients to not feeling pain post-operatively (site-specific anesthesia methods and patient-controlled analgesia) in these specialty surgeries. Airway supply devices with specific features are used by the anesthesia physicians in the operating room in the obesity surgery or otorhinolaryngologic operations.

The Liv Hospital’s operating theater has 7 operating rooms. The operating rooms allow us to provide all the amenities of age and to provide complete and high-quality anesthesia service to our patients at the same time with their high-tech infrastructure.
The clinic can serve to a versatile patient group with an age interval of 0-100 and weight interval of 2-215. Since majority of patients consists of cancer surgery, the anesthesia techniques and procedures have particularity because of both the associated other health problems and prolonged operations (10 to 17 hours) in these patients.
The anesthesia team is able to provide all kind of service to these patients based on the experience and technical equipment. In addition to general anesthesia, also regional anesthesia methods (spinal block, epidural block, combined spino-epidural block, and anesthetizing only the site in hand-arm surgeries) are applied easily.
